So, apparently, a rough-ish cut of the first episode of Doctor Who is out online somewhere.

And I’m sitting here, not downloading it. Which I’ll have to continue doing until … well, until the proper, transmitted version turns up on the internet. Then I’ll bite. After all, it doesn’t look like it’ll be shown in Australia until the end of the year. And I promise to watch it then, too.

And then, buy the DVDs.

But still. I’ve got 18 days, 19 hours, 29 minutes to hold myself back until then. Grrr.

    Gah! Now it’s not somewhere, it’s on one of my common torrent sites. Gah!

    But it hasn’t got the right title music. Title music is important. Very. Mmmmm.

    I’m sorry, but people who insist on calling it season 27 are silly. At least I think so.

    Wouldn’t they prefer a fresh start? Sure, they made it him the ninth doctor to keep everyone happy, but I doubt they’ll actually mention that fact in the series – well they haven’t in the first episode anyway.

    Not that I’ve seen it…

    Actually I really haven’t. Although I’m tempted to get it and put it on your iPod next time I see you.

    I’ll be reviewing them for grapefruit, naturally, and I’ll be calling “Rose” episode 101. It seems kind of silly to call it 2701, after the insanely long hiatus. It’s clearly a reasonably separate program, and you don’t want to alienate potential viewers by suggesting they’ve missed 26 important seasons.

    There’s a trailer coming out today, so that should keep me sated until the 26th. Then we’ll watch the proper version. No naughty sneaking things onto my iPod. Tut tut.

    Don’t let your Jade Pagoda buddies here you saying that.

    Actually I’ve never asked – are they rabid fans or a mostly sensible bunch?

    The Jade Pagoda folks are pretty sensible. They’re usually quite pro-books, unsurprisingly, so they probably would also say that the old series is unimportant to this one.

    I’ve spent the whole day feeling like I’m in the middle of watching Doctor Who. How perfectly irritating!
